SNOWY needs a Home
Snowy is a delightful little 10 year old Shih Tsu/Maltese who came to us very suddenly in mid-May. Her history is sad/happy/confused.
She started out life in Ottawa and was rescued by the SPCA with multiple injuries due to abuse. A very loving lady adopted her and they were partners in life for about five years. Then "Mom" met a man and got married. Along came two babies within 3 years. Little Snowy thought she was always going to be Mom's only 'child'. When the wee 10 month old boy was "patting " her, she nipped him. So Mom and Dad had to make a courageous and difficult decision to re-home their beloved little dog.
Since coming here to be fostered, she has shown very little anxiety. She was bewildered at first but has settled into routine. She hangs out with my geriatric, Lily, in my office where it is quiet. She loves to share laps and is very quiet. We have never heard her bark. She will hang near the gate and look at it kind of longingly once in a while to see if maybe Mommy is coming back. She has tried to go home with a few of our visitors. She seems accepting of other dogs but a is a little aloof. We get the feeling she would rather be the only dog in the house.
If you know of anyone who needs a wee companion to walk and play with and to cuddle with in the afternoons and evenings, please let them know about Snowy. Her health is good and she is up to date with her shots and flea control. She comes complete with all her 'stuff'.
